The Sooty Solution Story
A Sooty Solution is a second generation company. Our roots can be traced back to our original family business which my father opened in 1978.
My father was a hard working man with the heart of an entrepreneur. One day while reading a copy of
"Mother Earth News" an article caught his eye.
In the midst of the 70's the nation found itself in an energy crisis. The article illustrated how extra money could be earned by cleaning chimneys, thus a family business was born in 1978.
A simple inspiration received from a magazine article started a career in a new trade.
The family business grew as I learned the trade of the chimney business myself. The picture to the right shows me cleaning my very first chimney at the age of four.
There are no other chimney services that have this much experience in the field. I progressively worked my way through all the job positions and now being an owner and operator.
The years of experience has allowed me to service thousands of chimneys in Edinboro and the surrounding area.
On going personal development and a need to give back the community
led to becoming a firefighter and
EMT with the Edinboro Fire Department.
The years progressed eventually leading up to serving as a EMT for the county ambulance service. The ambulance served the areas of Springfield, Girard, Fairview, Albion, Cranesville, Lakeshore, Franklin Township and my home of Edinboro.
All the time it was my pleasure serving the residents of these communities when trouble arose and 911 was summoned. While even today I still serve the residents of Edinboro.
Through the years I have held the title of Captain, Lieutenant and served on the board of directors as vice chairman.
My business partner can boast about his service to the community as well. The story starts with a humble beginning in Pleasantville, PA. The son of a entrepreneur and legend in the firefighting and medical field. His beginning was shrouded in firefighting and fire prevention. A dedication to the community that was second to none.
A childhood spent in the shadow of a fire chief and flight medic led to a lifetime of serving the public from a early age. While his childhood was spent serving the communities of Pleasantville, Titusville, Oil City, Franklin and all of its surroundings. As the years progressed forward and moving to the Edinboro area to attend school. He joined the Edinboro Fire Department as well.
The years progressed as he held the positions of a firefighter and EMT, also holding ranks within the department as high as Deputy Fire Chief. He spent much of his time serving the citizens of the City of Erie as a EMT for a ambulance company for more than a decade.
On going training has led to a certification as a certified fire instructor. While still working and serving the Edinboro community to this day as a Firefighter and EMT and Assistant Fire Chief.
Chimney fires contribute to the cause of a majority of house fires. We are the only chimney service that are certified firefighters.This certification makes us the best in our field. We have training and experience no other service can compare with. It's our dedication to the community that sets us apart from the others.
With the qualifications to teach fire safety as a certified fire instructor. What this means to you is that we are the instructors that teach your local fire departments how to properly battle a chimney fire.
A Sooty Solution has over 30 years of chimney experience and over 27 years of firefighting experience.We combine this training with our services that make us the ones that truly protect you and your home.
